This museum is originated from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit who has a passion in Thai textiles and would like to have a museum to showcase and preserve them. Since 2003, the renovation of colonial building around Phra Borom Maha Ratachwang district has begun in order to set up this textiles museum. There is an exhibition like Fit For a Queen: Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Creations by Balmain to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday in 2016. Its highlight is Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s clothes designed by Pier Balmain, the French designer who had been the main designer for 22 years.

泰布博物馆的成立是因诗丽吉皇后对泰布有非常珍惜及爱心，想成立一个收集及保护稀有泰布的场所。就在佛历2546年 (公院2003年) 开始，用大皇宫内一老旧的楼房来装修建立泰布博物馆，里面展示: 美如皇后 (Fit For a Queen: Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Creations by Balmain)，庆祝皇后佛历2559年 (公元2016年) 大寿禧庆。其亮点是法国名服装设计家 Pierre Balmain 设计及监督缝裁诗丽吉皇后服装超过22年，值得自已去参观。
