This first museum of Thailand was established in King Rama V’s reign. Originally, it was situated at Sahathai Samakom Pavilion inside the Grand Palace before it was moved to the current location next to Silpakorn and Thammasart University in 1987. There is an exhibition about Thai history from pre-historic period, historic period including Tawarawadee period, Sriwichai period, Lopburi period to Rattanakosin period. The atmosphere is rigid and strict, more suitable for those who are deeply interested in Thai history. SiamHOP can assure you that every historical item exhibited here is very rare and valuable.

泰国第一座国家博物馆，成立于拉玛五世 (帕峇颂德尊拉宗誥昭如华) 原址在大皇宫内的薩拉沙哈台沙玛空皇亭。佛历2530年 (公元1987) 搬迁到艺术大学与法政大学之间，直到今天。馆内展示有关泰族的历史，从史前及历史时期。分为塔瓦拉哇里，锡伟猜，洛武里，直到拉达纳哥信时期。进到里面的气氛比较严肃及认真，适合于真正对泰族历史有兴趣者参观。
