This temple is originally called “Wat Wua Lam Pong” until King Rama V went there to hold the Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony. His Majesty the King then changed its name to “Wat Hua Lam Phong” which remains until today. At Wat Hua Lam Phong, you can pay respect to the Buddha for good luck, donate food or save the life of cattle and buffalos. Thai believe saving life is the greatest merit-making. If you cannot make it during the day, please come to visit “Ruamkatanyu Foundation” in front of the temple at night and donate money to buy coffins for the deceased with no kin. It is believed that this kind of merit-making would boost your fortune and dispel bad luck. You can make a donation 24 hours a day.
