CBD Route 11
This ancient Thai house complex is a heritage of Associate Professor Waraporn Surawadee who inherited the house and asset from her mother. Assoc. Prof. Warapon’s wish is to build a Bangkokian Museum or Local Museum of Bangkok in order to tell the Pre and Post WWII lifestyle of Bangkokians. The young generation can learn and understand the root of themselves. She granted the museum to Bangkok Office and it is free to visit the museum. Inside, there are 4 buildings including a house where Assoc. Prof. Waraporn used to live with her family. The bedroom, living room, dining room and other rooms are well-preserved. The second building is the residence of Dr. Francis Christian, exhibiting rare antiques. The third one shows an exhibition of Bangkok. The last one is a library. It is a community museum which tells the history in a simple setting.
